Every month, The Coliseum will be hosting Songs and Scones as part of Cultural Services’ Take pART initiative .  Customers relax and unwind in the comfortable surroundings of the Gallery Bar, whilst indulging in a delicious scone and cup of tea or coffee (included in the ticket price) and enjoying the outstanding music or vocalists we have booked for the event.

Songs and Scones in September is sold out, with tickets now going fast for Wednesday 7 October, Wednesday 4 November, and Wednesday 9 December (Cakes and Carols) at 1.00pm.  There will be an extra 11am event on Wednesday 7 October as part of a range of events across Rhondda Cynon Taf during Mental Health Week 2009.  Tickets are £3.00, and for further information about the musicians booked for each event, please see the website rct-arts.co.uk

Wales’ most popular playwright, Frank Vickery, is back at all three venues with his hilarious comedy Tonto Evans .  This is one of Frank’s most ingenious comedies, packed with laugh out loud one-liners and moments of pure slapstick.

This season, there will be a matinee performance at each venue. The comedy opens at The Coliseum on Wednesday 30 September, with the matinee performance on Thursday 1 October at 2.00pm. The Park & Dare welcomes Frank back from Tuesday 13 October, with the matinee on Wednesday 14 October at 2.00pm. Lastly, The Muni’s run opens on Monday 19 October, with the matinee on Wednesday 21 October at 2.00pm.  There is a special matinee ticket offer of 2 stalls tickets for £12.00 (instead of £20.00) when tickets are booked in advance.

Cultural Services are delighted to be hosting the premiere of Mal Pope’s new musical Cappuccino Girls at The Park & Dare on Wednesday 18 November until Friday 20 November at 7.30pm, with a special matinee on Thursday 19 November at 2.00pm. Three women, living three very different lives, all trying, like the rest of us, to keep it together.  When Eddie the new Brazilian Barista steps into their lives, you just know nothing will ever be the same again.

This five star rated musical will have you laughing, singing, crying and cheering – an amazing experience of Friends meets Sex and the City, set to a fabulous score!  Tickets are £12.50 and £15.50.

Forces Sweethearts at Christmas is a very special Christmas experience of popular wartime nostalgia, recreating the magic of 40s favourites such as Vera Lynn, The Andrews Sisters and Gracie Fields at The Park & Dare on Friday 27 November at 2.30pm. Tickets are £9.00, concessions £7.00, and groups of 8 and over £5.00.

The theatres also have a variety of children’s daytime performances this autumn, including Babe the Sheep Pig at The Coliseum on Wednesday 28 October at 2.00pm, The Tales of Peter Rabbit on Saturday 31 October at 2.00pm at The Park & Dare and various matinee performances of the panto at each venue. The Coliseum’s panto Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Saturday 28 November until Sunday 6 December, The Muni’s panto Aladdin begins on Thursday 15 December and finishes on Sunday 27 December, and after Christmas Jack and the Beanstalk will be at The Park & Dare from Thursday 4 until Sunday 7 February.
