Cultural Services

... WHERE CULTURE BLOSSOMS

Funding

Rhondda Cynon Taf Cultural Services are funded by a number of organisations and projects, for which we are very grateful:

  • Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council – who own and operate the 3 venues and the arts development unit.
  • Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Assembly Government – Arts Outside Cardiff funding for programme and marketing development, grant funding for our Take Part participation programme, plus funding to develop a Youth Arts Strategic Partnership in RCT.
  • 14-19 Pathways Programme which was set up to develop a programme of activity raising awareness of the creative and cultural industries sector amongst the 14-19 age group, and partly funds our Learning and Inclusion in the Arts programme.
  • SONIG Youth Music Industry and our Youth Arts programme is partly funded through a Cymorth service level agreement with the councils' Fframwaith partnership, which is the Rhondda Cynon Taf Children and Young People Partnership.
  • Our Summer Film Project 2008 was supported by funding from Fframwaith’s Out of Schools Learning Programme. The funding has enabled us to pilot film making opportunities for children and young people aged 8-14 years. All the end product will be shown at the 2009 Zoom Film Festival, hosted at The Muni.

We also provide funding for other arts organisations:

  • Rhondda Cynon Taff Community Arts - we have a Service Level Agreement with RCTCA for this well established and well thought of organisation to develop and deliver a community arts programme for all ages within Rhondda Cynon Taff, which includes dance, digital and public art.
  • Audiences Wales - to provide specialist marketing support, mainly via producing annual box office reports for our marketing department, plus running and producing in-depth reports for a project called The Knowledge, which the vast majority of venues in Wales are involved with.
